Online Teacher Jobs at Nino - 3 Open Roles

English Speaking Teacher 4-10 years 45 minutes Max 6 CELTA / TEFL / TESOL preferred
Art Teacher 4-12 years 45 minutes Max 6 B.F.A. or 2+ years teaching art to kids

Phonics Teacher

Ages 3-6

Help young readers build the sound-based foundations that make every other subject easier. You'll teach systematic synthetic phonics - exactly the approach research says works best for early readers.

What you'll do

  • Teach systematic phonics (synthetic phonics approach) in small online groups
  • Build phonemic awareness, blending, and segmenting skills
  • Use interactive games, songs, and multi-sensory activities
  • Give parents weekly progress updates
  • Collaborate with curriculum lead on lesson improvements

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree (B.Ed. preferred)
  • Certification in phonics (Jolly Phonics, THRASS, or similar) is a strong plus
  • 1+ years teaching children ages 3-7
  • Clear, neutral English pronunciation
  • Stable internet, laptop with webcam, quiet teaching space
Apply for this role

English Speaking Teacher

Ages 4-10

Build real English speaking confidence in children through small group conversation, stories, and play. Our approach is based on why kids struggle with spoken English and what actually fixes it.

What you'll do

  • Run interactive English speaking classes (max 6 students)
  • Use role-play, storytelling, show-and-tell, and games
  • Build pronunciation, vocabulary, and self-introduction skills
  • Maintain a no-correction-during-conversation environment
  • Track and report each student's progress

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field
  • Cambridge CELTA / TEFL / TESOL certification is a plus
  • 2+ years teaching spoken English to children
  • Excellent pronunciation and conversational fluency
  • Patient, encouraging, child-friendly teaching style
Apply for this role

Art Teacher

Ages 4-12

Spark creativity through drawing, painting, crafts, and digital art - both traditional and tech-friendly. You'll be teaching the life skills children gain through art as much as the techniques.

What you'll do

  • Teach drawing, painting, crafts, and digital art techniques
  • Design age-appropriate projects across drawing, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media
  • Encourage personal artistic voice rather than copy-and-paste outcomes
  • Build a portfolio of student work for parent showcases
  • Contribute to monthly art exhibitions and seasonal projects

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong portfolio across multiple mediums
  • 2+ years teaching art to children
  • Comfortable with digital art tools (Procreate, Photoshop) is a plus
  • Good camera setup that clearly shows your work surface
Apply for this role
The Right Fit

You'll Thrive Here If...

  • You genuinely enjoy working with young children
  • You believe every child can learn with the right approach
  • You stay patient even when a child needs the same explanation five times
  • You celebrate small wins as much as big ones
  • You take ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • You are open to feedback and continuous improvement

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do online teachers earn at Nino? +

Pay is per class, not per hour. Rates depend on subject, experience, and qualifications. Phonics and English teachers with B.Ed. or CELTA/TEFL certification earn at the higher end. Rates increase after 3 months based on parent ratings and student retention. Payments arrive bi-weekly via bank transfer.

Do I need teaching experience to apply? +

Yes, at least 1-2 years of teaching children. It does not have to be online. School teachers, home tutors, tuition centre teachers, and freelance educators all qualify. If you have certifications (B.Ed., Jolly Phonics, THRASS, CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, B.F.A.) but limited experience, still apply - we evaluate the full profile.

Is this a full-time or part-time online teaching job? +

Both options exist. Part-time teachers work 4-12 hours per week. Full-time teachers work 20+ hours per week. Most educators start part-time and increase batches as parent demand grows. You choose your weekly hours and batch slots at onboarding.

What equipment do I need to teach online at Nino? +

A laptop with at least 8GB RAM (Windows or Mac), a 720p+ webcam, a headset or clip-on microphone, broadband internet of 20 Mbps or faster, and a quiet, well-lit teaching space. Art teachers also need an overhead camera angle or document setup so students can clearly see your work surface.

Which cities in India can I work from? +

Any city with reliable internet. Our 50+ teachers work from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Kochi, and dozens of tier-2 and tier-3 towns. Nino is fully remote - your location does not affect hiring.

What languages do I need to know to teach at Nino? +

English fluency is mandatory across all three roles. Hindi helps with parent communication for North Indian batches. Regional language skills - Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi - are a strong plus and may unlock dedicated regional batches with higher rates.

What does the Nino hiring process look like? +

Five steps over 2-3 weeks: submit the online application, get a response within 3-5 working days, attend a 30-minute video interview with the hiring team, deliver a 20-minute sample class to real students, receive a formal offer with rate and schedule, complete 1-week paid orientation.

How does the small batch size (max 6 students) compare to school teaching? +

A typical school classroom has 30-45 students. Nino caps every batch at 6. That means each child gets roughly 5x more direct attention per minute of class time. Teachers also report less burnout, easier behaviour management, and more meaningful relationships with both students and parents.
